Scholarship Conditions

1. Eligibility:

   • Applicants must be of Haitian descent and reside in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

   • Applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 18.

   • Applicants must be currently enrolled in high school.

2. Instagram Post Requirements:

   • Create an original Instagram post showcasing your Haitian heritage, culture, or experiences.

   • The post can be a photo or video with a caption explaining its significance.

   • Include the scholarship's designated hashtag (e.g., #HaitianYouthScholarship) and tag the organization's official Instagram account.

   • The post must be publicly visible on your Instagram account.

3. Application Process:

   • Submit a written application, including a brief essay in English or French (250-500 words) about one hero or heroine from Haitian history and how you relate to that person.

   • Provide a link to your Instagram post in the application.

   • Applications must be submitted by the specified deadline May 31, 2024.

4. Selection Criteria:

   • The scholarship committee will evaluate applicants based on the quality and creativity of the Instagram post, the content of the essay, and the relevance of their educational goals.

   • Preference may be given to applicants who demonstrate a strong connection to their Haitian heritage and community involvement.

5. Award and Follow-Up:

   • The scholarship winner will receive a one-time award of $300 to be used for educational expenses.

6. Additional Conditions:

   • The scholarship may not be transferred or deferred.

   • The organization reserves the right to disqualify any applicant who violates the conditions or submits inappropriate content.

   • The organization reserves the right to use the winning post and recipient's story for promotional purposes.
